Mark your calenders for Saturday March 10, 2012 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm for the 2nd Annual "A Cupcake Affair with a Kenyan Flair," at the Peterloon Estate in Indian Hill, Ohio.

The Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Cincinnati personality Bob Herzog from Channel 12 News. The evening will feature Kenyan music, a silent auction, and "light bites" of authentic Kenyan food prepared by Chef Khalid Mafazy C.E.C.
The main event will be cupcake sculpture, design, and taste competitions judged by celebrity judge, Thane Maynard, Director of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, professional judge, Megan Ketover of Orchid's at Palm Court and Bravo's Just Desserts, and Daniel Odipo, Chairman of the Kenyan Cincinnati Association.
In addition, the night will feature a silent auction, Bidding to Make a Difference.

Greg Allgood, Director of P&G's Children's Safe Drinking Water program recently visited SOTENI Village of Hope-Ugenya. He was able to visit three clinet's homes, all part of the AIDS Barefoot Doctors' PUR water project. Greg visited in December 2011 while Dr. Vic Wulsin (Founder & Chair of SOTENI) and Randie Marsh (Director of SOTENI International) were also in Kenya. SOTENI is participating in the Cincinnati Museum Center's African Culture Fest that will be held Saturday, January 14 through Monday, January 16. During the three-day event, SOTENI will have a booth to share information and news about our work in Kenya and the United States. We also will have merchandise for sale, such as notecards and soapstone gifts from Kenya.
African Culture Fest, a free annual event, is part of the Museum Centers's Passport to the World series. The series focuses on a culture's arts and heritage through displays, presentations, performances and merchandise, and offers experiences and activities for interacting and learning for the whole family. New this year is an African Film Festival with short films playing every hour on the hour. Other highlights of the event include African dance classes, drum and dance performances, fashion shows, crafts and face-painting for the children, workshops, poetry and games.
